Claudia M. Mirza is the co-founder and CEO of the Akorbi Group of Companies, based in Plano, Texas. She has led the company’s rapid evolution, from a small Spanish language translation company launched in 2003 to one of the world’s largest, woman-owned, and U.S.-based language service providers, helping clients overcome language and cultural barriers to succeed in the global business marketplace. With annual revenues of $55 million, Akorbi now offers multilingual interpretation in 170 languages, staffing, technology, and localization. Offices are in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, India and Africa.

Over the course of her multifaceted career, her business acumen and rapid success anticipating marketplace needs have garnered national news coverage in TIME, MSNBC, Forbes, Fortune and Inc. Magazine, Univision, Telemundo, as well as local visibility in The Dallas Morning News, D CEO and Dallas Business Journal. She was named the 2018 Women’s Business Enterprise Star by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and ranked by the Women Presidents’ Organization as one of the 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies™. 

Mrs. Mirza volunteers her time and energy to several organizations in which she believes strongly. She serves on the Board of Directors of The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), the international membership organization for successful women entrepreneurs, and the SheIs Foundation, working to transform the lives of women and girls in Latin America through sustainable empowerment. She is also Secretary/Treasurer of the Foundation of the Women Presidents’ Organization (FWPO), a 501 3 (c) that supports WPO’s advanced business education initiatives. The proud mother of two sons, she loves to spend her free time riding and training her Paso Fino horses with her family at their farm.
