Javier Palomarez, President & CEO of the USHBC, Endorses the SBA Spanish Resource Report Act

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, September, 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ The United States Hispanic Business Council (USHBC) is proud to endorse the bipartisan SBA Spanish Resource Report Act, introduced by Congressmen Gabe Evans (R-CO), Lou Correa (D-CA), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), and Henry Cuellar (D-TX). This legislation would require the Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) to submit a one-time report to Congress describing the Spanish-language resources and services currently available through SBA programs and its network of resource partners. The bill would give Congress a clearer picture of the Spanish-language resources SBA already provides, including available utilization and cost data, operational considerations, and recommendations for administering those resources.

Javier Palomarez, USHBC President and CEO, issued the following statement:

The SBA Spanish Resource Report Act is a strong step in the right direction toward leveling the playing field for the many Hispanic-owned small businesses whose owners and operators speak Spanish. While the bill won’t undo the SBA’s December 2025 decision to remove certain Spanish-language resources from its website, it will put a comprehensive inventory of the SBA’s existing resources on the record and give Congress a better understanding of these resources’ utility, cost, and operational efficiency. This basic oversight will make it easier for more of our small businesses to succeed by helping ensure they can take advantage of the SBA resources at their disposal. Spanish-speaking businesses are a vital part of the American economy, and their owners should have consistent access to the information they need to start, operate, and grow their businesses. I commend Congressmen Evans, Correa, Salazar, and Cuellar for their leadership and for acting in a bipartisan manner to achieve a common-sense solution to the benefit of Spanish-speaking Main Street.

The USHBC urges Congress to pass the SBA Spanish Resource Report Act and to prioritize legislation that will ensure the nation's more than 4.5 million Hispanic-owned businesses have full access to the federal resources available to them.
