New POLITICO Exclusive Highlights USHBC Survey: Hispanic Business Owners Speak Out on the Trump Economy

A new article from POLITICO features exclusive data from a recent USHBC survey of Hispanic small business owners and highlights growing concerns within our community about the direction of the economy and immigration policy under the current administration.

In the piece, USHBC President & CEO Javier Palomarez provides critical insight on shifting sentiment among Latino entrepreneurs, many of whom helped fuel President Trump’s 2024 return to office.

Now, as economic pressures mount and immigration enforcement intensifies, the survey shows a clear change in tone:

  • 42% of Hispanic business owners say their economic situation is getting worse

  • Just 24% report any improvement

  • 70% rank the cost of living as one of the top three issues facing the country

“The broader Hispanic community certainly feels let down,” said Palomarez. “On both fronts, immigration and the economy, we didn’t get what we thought we were going to get.”

This exclusive report offers a timely look into the mindset of one of the nation’s most entrepreneurial and economically active communities.
