Sen. Cruz joining Trevino, Tijerina Sunday for Laredo town hall

Sen. Ted Cruz is returning to Texas on Sunday, Feb. 25 to participate in a United States Hispanic Business Council town hall discussing the status of South Texas.

In addition to Cruz, the town hall will feature Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino, Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina and USHBC president and CEO Javier Palomarez.

The event is open to the public. It is being held Sunday at La Posada Hotel located at 1000 Zaragoza St. beginning at 1:30 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m. for the town hall which is being held Sunday at La Posada Hotel Located at 1000 Zaragoza St. 

Following the conclusion of the town hall at 2:30 p.m., there will be a community reception featuring the speakers held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. To RSVP for the reception, visit https://pp.events/aadQrx06 by noon on Feb. 24. 

Cruz has made multiple visits to Laredo in the past year for discussions on efforts to expedite the approval process for international bridge projects.

The situation at the U.S. and Mexico border is one of several topics that will be addressed during the town hall. Others include the economy, the political climate, correlating local and national politics, and the fight for energy independence.
