USHBC’s latest economic survey, shared exclusively with Politico and featured in this article, uncovers growing dissatisfaction among Latino business owners, many of whom helped deliver President Trump’s historic 48% share of the Hispanic vote in 2024.
According to the survey, 42% of Hispanic business owners report worsening economic conditions, while 70% identify the cost of living as one of the top three issues facing the country, more than double any other concern. USHBC President & CEO Javier Palomarez speaks directly to this discontent: “The broader Hispanic community certainly feels let down… On both fronts [immigration and the economy], we didn’t get what we thought we were going to get.”
The report illustrates how real world economic pressures: rising prices, tariffs, and immigration enforcement in Latino communities, are eroding support for the administration among a key voting bloc. With net favorability among Hispanic voters dropping to just 28%, the political and economic implications are enormous as the 2026 midterms approach.
